The Tolkien Song Cycle (1984 – 2005)


Descripción: The Tolkien Song Cycle (Ciclo de canciones de J.R.R.Tolkien extraídas del “El Señor de los Anillos” (en inglés) fue compuesto mayormente entre 1984 y 1985. Viajé a Europa en 1987 con un demo para tratar de interesar algún sello discográfico lo cual no arrojó ningún resultado. Así que con la ayuda de muchos amigos pude eventualmente plasmar el Volumen Uno en el 2002 y el Volumen Dos en el 2005. Habremos tocado el ciclo unas cinco veces en vivo con diez músicos en el escenario. A pesar de los esfuerzos repartidos en el tiempo nunca resultó nada a la fecha

Aclaración: Por mis ancestros (daneses, ingleses e irlandeses) crecí manejando ambos idiomas (inglés y español). Siempre ha sido confuso para quienes conocieron mis obras que cantara en inglés al mismo tiempo que hacía y enseñaba folclore.

No puedo más que decir que ambos ”mundos” son expresiones naturales para mí. Entre las grabaciones y actuaciones de este ciclo, participaron una cantidad muy grande de músicos.

Volume Two in 2005. We offered some five live performances with ten musicians on stage. Despite efforts to forward the cycle, nothing much has happened to date.

Note: Due to the fact that my ancestores were danish, english and irish I grew up with both the spanish and english language. I know that this fact has confused many who know my musical projects and have heard me sing in english while I played and taught argentine folklore.

I cannot but say that both “worlds” are natural to me. Both in the recording process and live performances there was a
great many musicians that participated.
